Description
The Medina County Courthouse in Medina, Ohio was built in 1841. It's located in the town square's Victorian-style setting and is on the National Register of Historic Places.
The original courthouse was a rectangular building built with stone, brick, and wood two stories high to emulate the Greek Revival style of architecture. The Victorian-style addition was added to the courthouse during its expansion in the 1870s when both the north and south wings were added as well as a central cupola. Over the years, the tower developed a slight lean. The courthouse has gone through numerous remodeling phases in its extensive lifetime and yet it remains fully intact and in full use. The last Medina County Courthouse and bell tower restoration was completed in June 2023.
