The eastern screech owl (Megascops asio) is a small owl that is 6–10 inches long with a wingspan of 19–24 inches. They are mostly gray, reddish-brown, or brown with yellow eyes. Females are usually larger than males and come in two color morphs: gray and rufous (reddish-brown).
