Description
The Trumpeter Swans Family was photographed in 2020 at Sandy Ridge Reservation of the Lorain County Metroparks in North Ridgeville, Ohio. The beautiful white Trumpeter Swan is named for its sonorous calls, which are often compared to the sounds of a French horn. The baby swans are called cygnets. They stay close to their parents for around 4 to 5 months. The majestic Trumpeter swan is the largest waterfowl species native to North America, reaching up to 35 pounds, and is one of the heaviest flying birds in the world.
