The Tall Ship Bluenose II is a schooner designed in the spirit of the original Bluenose. The original Bluenose was launched fishing and racing schooner in 1921 from Lunenburg, Nova Scotia. Becoming a Canadian icon, she earned the title Queen of the North Atlantic. The majestic image of the Bluenose has adorned the Canadian dime since 1937. Bluenose struck a reef off Isle aux Vache, Haiti in 1946. Bluenose II was built in 1963 as a replica and is owned by the Province of Nova Scotia.
