Description
Baltimore and Ohio Railroad Bridge #463 may not the oldest bascule one can find, this bridge remains an impressive structure due to its size as well as its rare heel-trunnion design. Its construction was part of a project which widened the Cuyahoga River. Today, the bridge remains standing for its historic and aesthetic values only, as it is abandoned. Today, the bridge is part of a rather unique photo opportunity, since it is located near a number of other historic bridges in Cleveland.
